Elizabeth Wehrle

Coach – CrossFit 26, St. Louis, MO

I have been personal training for 16 years and doing CrossFit since 2006. Prior to CrossFit I competed in several 8+ hour Adventure races, ran a marathon, completed a century ride, and participated in numerous local area races. CrossFit is and continues to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done and consequently the achievement I am most proud of. Every single WOD is a victory.

“I love being on the floor, providing a good class and perhaps a bit of a ‘nudge’.”

Education: ChemE Georgia Tech 2007, MA Sustainabilty Saint Louis University 2012

Why CrossFit over any other form of Fitness?: Since being introduced, whenever I have strayed, I have always come back. It is my security blanket.

Favorite Movie Quote?: “I’ll be back.” (Note: I once bootlegged a Spanish translated version of Terminator 2 – remember “Hasta la vista”? – and was waiting the entire movie for the dubbed version of Arnold to say this phrase; the moment of truth came and Arnold’s Latin self said… “Sayounara”; jaw dropping.)

The one song that gets you fired up to take on the world?: Techno Tuesday, Disco Sunday; just have to feel the vibes. Though ‘Wolf Like Me’ by TV on the Radio is pretty wild.

What made you become a CrossFit Coach?: For me it was a progression: I was introduced to Crossfit during Collegiate days, I saw and showed the results of the training, I was encouraged to pursue the certification and I became a coach… I then took some time to pursue some other adventures but eventually landed back into the Crossfit world at 26 and then was invited to coach. I love being on the floor, providing a good class and perhaps a bit of a ‘nudge’.

Favorite CrossFit Movement?: Anything on the rings or Burpees – that guy – but taking/having time to focus on an Oly lift is number one.

Qualifications:

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
CrossFit Level 3 Trainer
CrossFit Olympic Lifting Trainer
CrossFit Gymnastics Trainer

Kim Yawitz

Owner, Registered Dietitian, and Coach  – CrossFit 26, St. Louis, MO

Confession: I haven’t always been into fitness. I was recognized in high school for having the least natural athletic ability of any student my gym teacher had ever coached (but I tried really, really hard). I always tell people, if I can do CrossFit than ANYONE can do CrossFit. CrossFit has changed my life in the best of ways, and I love seeing it transform others as well. I aim to make every class challenging, fun, and encouraging for every single athlete (and to rock a killer playlist–I pride myself on those).

Education and Career: Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, Master of Arts in Communication, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (minor in journalism). A freelance writer and registered dietitian by day, I’ve been featured as a nutrition subject matter expert for the Food Network, Reader’s Digest, Elite Daily, Simplemost, Eat This Not That, Everyday Health, and Shape.

Why CrossFit over any other form of Fitness? For the community. The people bring me back to the gym day in and day out.

Favorite Movie Quote: “I did not achieve this position in life by having some snot-nosed punk leave my cheese out in the wind.” — Principal Ed Rooney, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

The one song that gets up fired up to take on the world?: Short Skirt Long Jacket (Cake)

What made you become a CrossFit Coach? To help people become their best possible versions of themselves

Favorite CrossFit Movement? Heavy carries (farmer’s walks, sandbags, etc.)
